Zombies and Heroes

YAY!! I am soooo excited for Halloween! I cannot wait!

I believe that I am going to be a Zombie or a Zombie/Ladybug (2 costumes in 1 too much?!).  My brother and sister-in-law are coming up! I cannot wait to see my niece. She is almost 8 months old now and is wearing 18-24 mos clothing.  She is the definitely what I like to say a "Biggie Baby" and I am so excited to see her I miss her sooo much.

My sister-in-law is definitely what we call the "handy" one of the family (my brother cannot fix anything at all; usually just makes it worse).  She has gone out and gotten material to make hers and his' costumes.  Yes...I said make! Isn't that just insane? I am so jealous that she is so creative and awesome but I love her more for it.  In a house she lived in in California she actually painted a scene from Winnie the Poo in 100-acre-wood and it looked professional.  She has also been building a greenhouse, bunk beds and a shed for goats all at the same time.  Did I mention she is doing this while living alone (for the moment) and with a baby to watch?  I am so jealous. I know there is no way that I will be that kind of mom. I am definitely not that smart nor creative.

My Brother is in Iraq and I cannot wait for the day that he will come home permanently. He has only been there for about 3 months but it really sucks.  I'm going to be honest that the war did not really affect me until my only sibling went over. I hope he is OK. He gets to come home now because being somewhat low on the totem pole does not give him much choice of when he can. He was hoping to come home for my niece's first birthday (march 4th) but that's pretty much in the middle of his deployment and is completely taken as is the holidays.

Its better than nothing!

Wisely

Yeah so I am pretty sure that I have realized recently how "old" I am. I only put those in quotations because most people would say I have my whole life ahead of me at 23 (which I guess is true). I just realized recently that it really sucks being an adult. I think that's when people figure out they are grown; when they don't wanna be. Bills, car loans, rent, going to work (everyday), less parties, less sleep, and all the above. Don't get me wrong....making my own choices and choosing where I go and who I go with is nice. The worst is budgeting and watching what I spend and when I do it gets spent "wisely".

I have come to hate that word. "Wisely" means who know more than you should; "wisely" means you say no to doing stupid shit when you'd rather pretend to act stupid and do it anyways; "wisely" is when your friends (who happen to still be in college) call you at 2AM on a Wednesday night to tell you about the color of a wall and you yell at them saying that its not important and you need your sleep...."wisely".

I remember being in 5th grade wondering how long it was going to take me to grow up and how awesome it was going to be. man...I really wish I was a 5th grader dreaming again.

Karma

This weekend was AWESOME (except towards the very end)!! On Friday, friends and I went to Markoff's haunted woods in MD and it was definitely worth the drive and money. You have to wait for a while but while waiting there are huge bonfires, food, and activities to do....it is pretty sweet.

Saturday I went to Kings Dominion. That was pretty busy (we also go there kind of late) but that was very fun. Riding roller coasters at night is much more fun that during the day (but it is a lil colder).  We had to take my roommate's sister back home to VCU afterwards and that is when the night became interesting.  She had been complaining to my roommate how this guy had completely lead her on and then just blew her off. She also found out that while he was talking to her he was also talking to other girls.  My roommate got tired of hearing about this guy and found out that he was at a party so we decided to go and ruin his night (just to be stupid and for fum!). It took about 30 mins to figure out why we needed to get into the frat party and what we were gunna do when we got there.  "Winging it" seemed like the best idea since we couldn’t decide on one particular idea.  We get in there (after being carded which was kind of sweet because I have been feeling old lately) saying that we were looking for our "friend".
We get in there and a couple things happened:

First: we were severely undressed and looked kind of rough because we had been on roller coasters all day

Second: we had been drinking (somewhat) but it was nothing compared to the 18 year old freshman in there so drunk that they didnt seem to notice us walking in

Third: we saw the "man of the hour" dancing with some girl and his skills were very sub-par.

My roommate’s cousin wanted to dance over towards him and kind of give him a bump just to annoy.  My roommate wasn’t sure about the idea but decided to go along with it. They start dancing and I was going to join but realized it might not look right and didn’t want to attract too much attention to us (besides I wanted to watch it all go down).

So they get closer and closer and all of a sudden my roommate takes her cousin bt the arms and slams her into the guy! He goes down along with his girl and everyone in the room stops. Then my roommate wanted to put a cherry on top and starts yelling at him "what they hell dude? Why did you just run into us? You need to apologize to my cousin" (as she takes her cousin and pushes her towards him).  He puts his hands in the air and gives a very scared "sorry" face and starts to put his hand out to shake hers.  She puts her hands in the air yelling, "hell no!!" and walks away. A few other choice words were said to him afterwards and then we left.  By and by it was pretty awesome to watch. He looked star-struck and honestly....scared.

We get outside and walk over to my roommate's sister (who was waiting around the corner) and told her what happened. She starts laughing along with the friend who was with her and we start heading back to her campus dorm and our car.

That was when karma came back to us....

There was a white car parked on the side of the road (remember this is Richmond we are talking about) with a couple guys inside.  They start talking to us and driving slowly near to curb as we walked the sidewalk, "Hey ladies! Hows it going? Want to come and party with us" (not sure why they were talking to us when we looked the way we did) "Come on ladies it will be fun!"

My naive roommate's sister and her friend start yelling at them to leave them alone (getting cocky after our earlier encounter) and I knew this may turn out badly.  From my experience at ODU freshman year of college you have to be polite, neutral and brief all at the same time otherwise bad things could start happening.

Before I know it a girl (yes they were hollering at us with a girl while a girl was with them) in the back seat rolls down her window and starts yelling at us "They are just trying to say hi! What’s your problem?!" (With some choice words added in).  More words were said from my crew and she starts of open the door.  Once she realizes that there are 5 girls and 1 of her (I am hoping thats why) she closes her door and they slowly drive away.  We had stopped because the sister's friend saw her friend and stopped to talk and tell him what was going on.  The white car drives about a block up and stops to wait for us.  I showed my friends where they were and we took another way.  My roommate, her cousin and I started lecturing them on how to just ignore rather than get shot. For some reason all they wanted to do was to fight (gang initiation?) and that was it. I never liked Richmond and I definitely never will.

Fridays...

Why is it that Fridays are so long? I'm always sitting here at work just staring at the clock wondering when 4pm will hit (its 3:11 now and I have been done with my work since 2!).  Today I decided to start a blog...I'm always bored as hell and my good friend/boss for a million years/cool person (you know who you are) has one so I was like "why the hell not!?"
What do I decide to blog about today?

dumb people...oh yes...dumb people.
I love how everyone in northern Virginia loves to boast how they are such good drivers...no you aren't a good driver; not at all.  People love to slam on their brakes (for no apparent reason); weave in and out of traffic; run red lights incessantly; never EVER put on a turn signal to tell the person behind you that they may stop and turn; do anything to piss me off honestly.  Also, everyone is in a rush? WHY? yes..I know you have to go to work and be there by a certain time but SO DO I!! We all have places to go and you have no preference over getting in front of me so that you can run the red light because YOU are late..you are not the only person in this world.  I figured people in busy, overpopulated northern VA would realize that after living here for so long...there are people everywhere!!

on a sweeter note..

my niece made me go and watch this movie a couple weeks ago....terrible movie but I am not sure that I heard any of the dialogue.  All I saw (heard) was Jake with no shirt; Jake flipping his hair; Jake running; Jake with no shirt; Jake fighting; Jake with no shirt.  I am sure you see where this is going but I just cannot get over it.  He is by far my one seed now. I am buying a poster like this one for my room and I was never the pre-teen who put up pictures of Justin Timberlake or any of the Backstreet Boys...no.  But I am that person now.  Oh yes....the things that I would do to that man.   Man o Man.

Tonight my roommate Blondie and some other friends are going to Markoff's Haunted Woods in MD.  It's suppose to be rather scary but the real reason I am going is to see my roommate scream...she is a good screamer and pregaming will also be a factor. This weekend should be a good one!!! (but its only 3:25...)
